Greece: 4,000 account seizure orders issued daily

In March the orders for account seizures reached 1,500, in April 2,000 while in June they reached 4,000 in a day.

According to the Greek daily Ethnos on Sunday there have been more than 315,000 electronic seizures of accounts since the beginning of the year.

They all relate to outstanding debts of individuals and businesses to the state.

The report cites Finance Ministry data showing that since the beginning of 2014 there have been more than 335,000 cases of asset seizures for debt owed to the state and more than 15,500 auctions of assets.

The money recovered since January is state has reached 1.73 billion euros out of a total 67.2 billion euros in outstanding debts to the state.
