Greek government said “NO” to USA drones
Greek government said “no” to the Ministry of Defense of the USA for the base of UAV’s in Kastelli, Crete.
As lamiareport.gr reports, until the last moment everything was going well, but the Americans surprisingly heard the negative decision of the Greek government.
The decision was difficult and primarily political, after several meeting between the Prime Minister, Antonis Samaras and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Evaggelos Venizelos and Defense, Dimitris Avramopoulos.
Reports indicate that there were conflicting suggestions and disagreements within the government.
The assessment was that in the present circumstances it would be very difficult and a dangerous risk for the government to give the “green light” to the Americans.
