Discussion on a major deal for Cretan olive oil export

An american company discussed a major deal with a trader (Botzakis S.A.) in Heraklion, in order to import more than 300 tons of olive oil per month for its stores and customers in the USA.

It seems like the Americans decided to change the way they eat, because health benefits of olive oil are well known all over the world.

Prefect of Crete, Mr. Stavros Arnaoutakis, the president of Cretan Export Association, Mr. Alkiviadis Kalambokis, and representatives from both companies were present.

“Quality of Cretan products is their passport to markets aborad”, said Mr. Arnaoutakis.

There are no more information about the total cost of the agreement, but the company is interested in import of Cretan olive oil in a year basis (more than 3.000 tons), while showed its interest for other local products, such as honey, herbs and wine.
