A Cretan diver at Antikythera shipwreck
Nikos Giannoulakis is a Cretan diver who dived in the shipwreck of Antikythera, discovering a historic world 60m under the sea.
According to flashnews.gr, he is the second diver from Crete who dived in the shipwreck.
The first one was a sponge diver who discovered the shipwreck in 1900 and died by the diver’s disease!
Greek, American, Australian and British scientists took part in the mission, called “Return to Antikythera”, a project of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports with support from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
