Ilias Raftopoulos… the “mouth” painter of Kalives… passed away

Cretan mouth painter Ilias Raftopoulos died at the age of 54.

The talented painter, permanent citizen of Kalives, Apokoronas, was seriously injured in a car accident at the age of 23.

Since then, he used to live with his wheelchair as he was quadriplegic.

He moved to Sweden, “where everyone respects human life” -as he used to say- and started creating his masterpieces, painting with his mouth.

He made lots of exhibitions in Japan, USA, Spain, England, Portugal, Australia…

He was living for the last years of his life in Kalives, where he died.
