The recording of damages in Chania Prefecture begins on Friday

tavro3Services of Chania Prefecture and all Municipalities in Chania area begin to record all damages caused from the bad weather of the last three days.

Stones and mud in the middle of the roads, flooded houses and stores -especially in the northern part of Chania Prefecture-… is the scenery on Friday, while Fire Service still gets calls for pumping water out of many basements.

Governor of Crete, Mr. Stavros Arnaoutakis, promised that he will do whatever is possible to restore any damage and give a compensation to all “victims” of the storm.

The Mayor of Platanias, Mr. Giannis Malandrakis, asked from the Governor of Crete to declare a state of emergency situation in the area.

All citizens who want to fill the application forms for the declaration of damages, due to bad weather, should go or call to their Municipality:

  • Municipality of Platanias: 28213 40022 / 28210 61718
  • Municipality of Chania: Milonogianni & Ipsilanton str. or at Citizens Service Center (KEP)
  • Prefecture of Chania: From Friday (2/1) to Saturday (4/1), 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Eleftherias Sq. (Dikastirion)
