According to information by citizens of Kastelli, they heard a loud noise, which caused a blast and they felt the earth shaking.
It sounded like an explosion and everybody were terrified.
Many windows and glasses broke in the few seconds of the incident.
Although the causes of the noise and the blast are unknown, it is believed that a couple of warplanes must had broken the sound barrier.
It has to be mentioned that 18 U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft from the 480th Fighter Squadron at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, deployed Souda Bay, Greece, for bilateral training with the Hellenic air force (Jan. 16 – Feb. 13, 2015 / see here).
