Yanis Varoufakis was spotted with his wife on a boat to the island of Aegina where he owes a holiday home.
The former finance minister chose to travel to his favourite destination at a time when a crucial debate is taking place in the Greek Parliament on the bailout proposals.
Earlier he announced that for “family reasons” he would not vote on the government’s reforms, a vote scheduled to take place late on Friday, early Saturday.
He has, however, expressed his support for his successor’s reform plan.
He’s tweeted that he fully supports him: “I declared this morning my total support to Tsakalotos, especially on our plans concerning the debt”, he wrote on Twitter.
