He saved his father-in-law by giving him first aid

Everything happened in a taverna at Kokkinos Pirgos village, Heraklion, on Friday night.

According to e-mesara.gr, an elderly man suffered a chest pain and fell unconscious to the floor (archive photo).

Other people -who were in the taverna- called his son-in-law to come immediately.

He went to the taverna, along with his wife, and started giving him first aid, as he was taught in a 20-hour course for First Aid (organized by the local dept. of Red Cross).

In a while, the elderly man started breathing again.

He was transferred by ambulance to the Health Center of Mires and then to the General Hospital of Heraklion.

Doctors congratulated the volunteer of the Red Cross for what he did.
