He is nominated as “Norwegian Hero” for 2015. Lars Erik (27) raised the alarm about drunk aircrew in a flight to Crete
There were many thoughts raced through my head before I called the police. But I do not regret what I did, says Air Baltic Notifier Lars Erik Engstrøm
At dawn, on Saturday, August 8, an entire flight crew arrested by the police at Gardermoen, when they showed up to fly 109 Norwegian charter tourists to Crete (click here).
Four out five – captain, first officer and two stewardesses – blew red, and blood tests later showed that they were all affected by alcohol.
Each was sentenced to unconditional prison sentences.
It was Engstrøm who alerted police that the flight crew had been drinking at the hotel, where he worked as a night watchman.
Now he is nominated for “Norwegian heroes”, an award given by VG, in cooperation with Gjensidige Foundation and TV Norway.
