1,8 mil. euros tax fraud from a business on Crete!

A… “trick” with the “Z” of a cash register is… magic.

A business on Crete managed to… “hide” 1,8 mil. euros from the Tax Office, using a software to… “reduce” its income.

According to “Eleftheros Typos” newspaper, when the owner was pressing the “Z” button every night, before closing the store, the cash register was counting the total daily income, but… missing the last “0”.

So, if the total daily income was 2,000 euros, the “Z” was only counting 200 euros!

As announced by the Greek Financial Crime Police, two men from two softaware companies, accountants, businessmen and hoteliers are parts of a criminal network.

The investigation started in August.
