Most stores opened on Sunday. Union of the employees called for a strike

Most stores in Greece opened on Sunday, November 1, as most of owners chose to do so as it marked the first day of the autumn sales period.

Retail stores in Greece are usually closed on Sundays.

Those that chose to open on Sunday did so from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The union representing retail sector employees called on its members to strike today.

The union is opposed to retail stores opening on Sundays.
