“We even import tomatoes in Greece”. Complaint by the Farmers Association of Ierapetra

According to agrotypos.gr, there is an import of large quantities of tomatoes from Albania and Skopje, in the last few months.

Tomatoes from Albania and Skopje have no certification and -it is obvious- that some importers make profits at the expense of farmers on Crete and other parts of Greece.

Ministry of Rural Development and Food has already been informed by the Farmers Association of Ierapetra.

Last week, local authorities of Piraeus seized 21 tons of tomatoes, imported from Albania with no sign or certification.
