Eight Greek hotels win Tui Holly Awards, one of them on Crete

Eight Greek hotels were included in Tui Holly Prize list of world’s top holiday hotels for 2016, selected after a survey among leading German tour operator’s customers.

According to Kathimerini newspaper, four of those hotels are in Kos (Iotel Horizon Beach Resort, Hotel Palladium, Neptune Hotels Resort Convention Centre Spa and Palazzo del Mare), three in Rhodes (Atlantica Imperial Resort Spa, Kalithea Horizon Royal and Lidos Mare) and one in Heraklion (Iotel Anissa Village).

Top destinations for Germans

Greece comes third among countries with the highest number of winners, while Turkey occupies the top spot with 31 hotels. Spain comes after Greece with 25 points and Egypt follows with 6 hotels. Five distinguished hotels are located in Portugal, Thailand and the Maldives, four in Germany, three in Croatia, two in Mauritius and United Arab Emirates and one in Cyprus, Italy, Austria, the Dominican Republic and Mexico.

Tui also released the list of top destinations for Germans during this year’s season. Greece occupied the 4th place with Spain and especially Mallorca taking first place. Turkey ranked second, Germany third, Italy 5th, US 6th, Austria 7th, Egypt 8th, Portugal 9th and Thailand 10th.
