Two emergency landings at Chania Airport on Sunday evening
Condor airlines #DE2314 to Port Louis made an emergency landing in Chania (8.24 p.m.), following problem with hydraulics, as reported by the Head Security Officer of “Daskalogiannis” airport, Mr. Eleftherios Kastanakis.
The airplane took off from Frankfurt and its destination was Mauritius.
All 250 passengers were transferred to a hotel to spend the night and they will depart for Mauritius on Monday.
Three hours later, a Thomson flight #TOM6YQ from Luton, heading to Heraklion carrying 189 passengers, made an emergency landing in Chania (11.15 p.m.), following problem with flaps.
According to Mr. Kastanakis, aircraft engineers repaired the damage of the airplane, in order to depart as soon as possible for Heraklion airport “Nikos Kazantzakis”.
