Five arrivals of cruise ships in Chania in the next two weeks
More than 17,500 cruise passengers will arrive in Chania in the next couple of weeks.
As announced by the Local Port Authority, five cruise ships will dock at the port of Souda, from May 2 to May 16.
Starting today, “Majestic Princess”‘ arrives at the port of Souda, carrying 3,560 passengers and 1,346 crew members.
Majestic Princess is a ship sailing for Princess Cruises. She is a Royal-class vessel, and is a sister ship to Regal Princess and Royal Princess. Her keel was laid on 10 July 2015 and her name was announced 9 October 2015.
It was also announced that she will conjointly carry the Chinese name, Shèngshì Gōngzhǔ Hào, an interpretation selected by Carnival PLC’s China employees, which means “Grand World” or “Grand Spirit”.
Her design includes “Movies Under the Stars” (the largest outdoor screen at sea), a multi-level piazza style atrium, glass-floor walkway which extends 8 meters beyond the edge of the ship and cuisine from Italy, France, North and South America, Southeast Asia, Japan and China.
