Dragasakis appointed as new economy minister in mini cabinet reshuffle announced Wednesday

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has appointed Yiannis Dragasakis as Greece’s new Economy and Development Minister, in place of Dimitris Papadimitriou, in a mini reshuffle announced by government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos on Wednesday. Dragasakis will remain government vice president.

The spokesman also announced five more changes:
-Dimitris Vitsas, previously the Alternate Minister of National Defence, is taking over as Migration Policy Minister, in the place of Yiannis Mouzalas
-Former leader of the Democratic Left Fotis Kouvelis enters the government as Alternate Defence Minister
-SYRIZA MP Meropi Tzoufi will be the new Deputy Education Minister
-The former Special Secretary of the Labor Inspectorate, Thanasis Iliopoulos, is appointed Alternate Labour Minister for Social Solidarity
-Konstantinos Stratis is appointed Deputy Culture and Sports Minister

Tzanakopoulos said the competences of the new alternate and deputy ministers will be clarified in the coming days.
