Thailand Princess enchanted by ancient Minoan site of Knossos in Crete
Thailand Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was enchanted by the ancient Minoan civilization site of Knossos on the Greek island of Crete which she recently toured.
The sister of the king of Thailand used a notebook to record all that impressed her and she also visited the Archaeological Museum in the city of Heraklion.
As local newspaper “Patris” notes the Asian princess requested to see the great archaeological finds of Crete while her tour was preceded by visits of high-ranking diplomats in order to prepare her trip to the island.
Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has a passion for technology, she studied History and earned a PhD in Educational Development.
The Princess has won the Indira Gandhi prize which is awarded each year from India to individuals and organizations, in recognition of their creative efforts to promote international peace, development as well as a new international economic order.
Knossos also prepares for Prince Charles and Camila tour
On May 11, Prince Charles and Camila are also expected to visit Knossos.
Their tour is scheduled shortly after 9:00 in the morning and for its whole duration, Knossos will be closed to other visitors.
The Royal Escort is to include 40 people and when their tour of Knossos is completed, they are scheduled to attend a reception at Villa Ariadni, organized by the English School of Archeology.
