“Greek Mothers” protest in Thessaloniki, call for release of two soldiers

A group of demonstrators called “Greek Mothers” protested outside of the Turkish consulate in Thessaloniki on Monday, demanding the release of the two Greek servicemen detained by Turkish authorities four months ago.

While holding photos of the two soldiers, the group protested against the fact that the two have been detained since early March without any charges being laid against them. Members of the group “Greek Mothers” asked to meet with the Turkish consul general for their release but their request was denied.

The gathering was organised online and also aimed at showing support to the families of the two soldiers.
