“Greece at the airport” second destination: Chania

“Fly me to the Moon” cultural and entertainment programme at Athens Airport continues on Friday, September 28th, with the second Greek destination: the city of Chania.

Travellers and airport visitors will enjoy a unique, rich programme, with Cretan music and dancing, the typical “mantinades” songs that will follow the tradition of a “dialogue” between the lead dancer and the audience; the local gastronomy will be “served” of course, with Cretan products and an introduction to the secrets of the preparation of the traditional “dakos”!

Moreover, Chania images and moments will be on display on airport screens, while visitors will have the opportunity of a “digital” city tour, taking also their picture in the special photobooth during the event. Finally, presents and plenty of the local drink “raki” will be available!

The airport’s “Fly me to the moon” this year “unfolds” the natural beauty of Greece, the cultural identity, the gastronomy, the customs, the traditions, and the special character of each region. Our passengers and visitors will be enjoying these “journeys”, together with local representatives, and the people of our country’s “guest of honour” regions.

The programme:

  • July 2018 – Central Greece
  • September 2018 – Chania
  • October 2018 – Epirus
  • December 2018 – Northern Greece

“Fly me to the Moon” is a cooperation between Athens International Airport and elculture cultural platform, which takes place for six consecutive years. For more information, please visit www.aia.gr and www.elculture.gr.
