Event in Akrotiri to donate to “Elpida” foundation

I would like to inform you of an event that is taking place in Akroriri, Chania by an expat couple who lost their 15 year old grandson to cancer and now want to donate to local children and families going through what they did.

We have full backing from Elpida (association of friends of children with cancer) and the takings for the evening will be donated to the association.

Have a personal letter written by the couple and a poster for the event attached.  If there is any way you are able to publicise this event in any way it would be much appreciated. We want to be able to collect as much as we can for this worthy cause.

The event is being organised by Mr and Mrs Mccloughlin, the couple that lost their grandson and will take place at Sunset Pool bar in Chorafakia, Akroriri, Chania, Crete on Saturday 28 September.Start time 5pm with events for the kids – face painting and hook a duck for prizes. Pool relays with teams doing relays in silly outfits and prizes.

The events will require and entrance fee. We continue to our raffle. A fifty fifty game played all evening. All prizes for these events have been donated by local businesses (food vouchers from local restaurants, vouchers etc) and our local association Akrotiri Woman’s Group consisting of over 100 ladies mostly permanent English and Americans ladies from Souda Bay naval Base. We continue the evening with live music from Irish band “4 goats and banjo” who have agreed to bypass their normal fee and donate it for the charity. During their break we will have local Cretan dancers who volunteer in the area. All money collected from these events will be sent to Elpida.

I am hoping that you are able to afford this event a little publicity being for such a good cause and an entire community getting behind it for the greater good.
