Fake travel document arrests at Heraklion airport

A total of 41 foreign nationals were arrested between September 9 and September 15 at Heraklion International Airport on Crete for possessing fake travel documents.

The 27 men and 14 women, aged between 17 to 59 years old, presented fake travel documents allegedly issued by the authorities of Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Bulgaria, Japan, Belgium, China, Denmark, Albania, Slovenia, Pakistan, Romania, Iraq and the Czech Republic to travel to Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Belgium, France and the Netherlands.

The fake documents were confiscated and the suspects were sent to a Heraklion prosecutor.
