Strong winds up to 10 Beaufort keep ferries from sailing; No routes to Crete

Strong winds blowing in the Aegean, in some cases reaching up to 10 on the Beaufort scale, have caused problems for ferry routes.

The catamaran Super Jet did not depart from the port of Piraeus on Tuesday for Tinos, Mykonos, Naxos, Santorini, nor did the ferry “Blue Star Delos” for Syros, Tinos, Mykonos and Santorini.

Additionally, the ferries “Dionyssios Solomos” and Nissos Samos” did not sail for the islands of Serifos, Sifnos, Milos, Kimolos, Sikinos and Santorini and for Chios and Lesvos, respectively.

A sailing ban for ferries leaving the port of Lavrio for Kea is also in effect.

The Kavala-Prinos and Keramoti-Thassos, Alexandroupolis-Samothrace and Rio-Antirrio ferry services are also not operating.
