Qatar Airlines says passengers found infected in Athens were health-cleared in Doha

All of the 12 passengers who were found infected by coronavirus in Athens had been checked in Doha and found healthy enough to continue their trip, Qatar Airways said on Wednesday.

Responding to Greece’s decision to ban flights from Qatar a day later, when the results came out, Qatar Airlines also underlined that the 9 Pakistani nationals, 2 Greek nationals from Australia and a Japanese relative of a Greek-Japanese family were transit passengers, and did not originate in Doha.

“All passengers were tested according to health safety protocols at Doha airport prior to boarding and were deemed suitable for travelling,” the airline said in a statement about flight QR 203, which had a total of 91 passengers.
