Greece registers 57 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday

A total of 57 confirmed new coronavirus cases were registered in Greece since Tuesday, including 10 people entering the country by land or air and 18 new cases in Attica region alone, the National Public Health Organization reported on Wednesday. 

This brings the total cases of coronavirus to 4,336 since the pandemic broke out in Greece, with a 54.4 pct being men. Some 1,212 are related to travel abroad and another 2,157 were infected by already registered cases.

There are 8 patients intubated in hospitals, with a median age of 56 years. Two of them are women, while 75 pct of them have an underlying disorder or are aged 70 or more. A total of 127 have come out of ICUs since the first outbreak.

With no new Covid-19 fatalities recorded in the last 24 hrs, the deaths total stands at 203. Of these, 66 were women and the median age of all was 76 years. A total of 96.1 pct had an underlying ailment and/or were aged 70 or above.

Of the 57 new cases and following Attica, Thessaloniki (11), Kavala (7) and Lefkada (2) saw the highest concentrations.
