Seven Greek universities make world’s top 1,000
Seven Greek universities have made it to a list of the world’s top 1,000 third-level institutions published by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) on Tuesday.
The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is the Greek university with the highest ranking, placed at 331 in the world rank.
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki follows at 478 and University of Crete at 551.
Also in the top 1,000 are the University of Ioannina (582), University of Patras (631), National Technical University of Athens (648) and University of Thessaly (926).
According to CWUR, the top 10 universities in the world are Harvard, Stanford, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Oxford, Columbia, University of California, Berkeley, Chicago, Princeton and Yale.
The list is based on eight factors – quality of education, alumni employment, quality of faculty, publications, influence, citations, broad impact and patents.
